Rosé Spritz with Rosemary Infused Vodka

Rosé Spritz with Rosemary Infused Vodka Recipe

This Rosé Spritz with Rosemary Infused Vodka is the perfect spritz to add to your happy hour routine. It's tasty but not too sweet, and strong but drinkable. And it's easy! No shaker required.

This Rosé Spritz definitely gives off some serious spring and summer vibes. It's slightly herbaceous and insanely refreshing, similar to my other amazing recipe for a Grapefruit Basil Cocktail.

What is a Rosé Spritz?

The first thing that pops into my head when I think of a spritz is the mother of all spritzes- the Aperol Spritz. It's both sweet and bitter tasting in the best way possible, usually containing a combination of Aperol, Prosecco, seltzer, and an orange peel garnish.

Though I really enjoy a classic Aperol Spritz, I have to be in the mood for it. In fact, I think the best part of an Aperol Spritz is that it lays the groundwork for other spritzes like this Rosé Spritz with Rosemary Infused Vodka.

Ingredients

You need four primary ingredients for any spritz:

This spritz recipe uses homemade rosemary infused vodka as the liquor, sparkling rosé as the sparkling wine, seltzer, and lemon and rosemary as the garnish.

Rosemary Infused Vodka

Rosemary is a potent herb that quickly imparts its flavor onto other ingredients. Therefore, this rosemary infused vodka requires just 30 minutes of infusion prior to making the cocktail.

Simply nestle a couple sprigs of rosemary into a jar filled with vodka, and put it int he refrigerator for a half hour so it stays cold while it infuses. This rosé spritz, or any spritz, should be cold!

Which Vodka to Use

This is a personal preference. The owner of my local Brooklyn wine store told me about Supergay Vodka, which is local to New York State. He explained that it's a corn-based vodka filtered using charcoal. It's very high quality and reasonably priced. Plus, the bottle design... so fun.

I can honestly say this vodka is delicious. It's incredibly smooth, and I get a slightly botanical taste from it, in the best way. It also smells strikingly similar to sake. I would describe it as "soft" or "mellow". Perfect for any cocktail or simple martini.

How fabulous is this bottle?!

Sparkling Rosé

You could use regular white sparkling wine or Prosecco to make your rosé spritz, but then it wouldn't be a rosé spritz! The light pink color accents the green rosemary and yellow lemon for a nice color scheme. The presentation is pretty!!

Instructions

This Rosemary Infused Rosé Spritz is really simple to make.

  1. Infuse the vodka with fresh rosemary for 30 minutes.
  2. Combine the vodka, sparkling rosé and seltzer in a glass over ice.
  3. Garnish with fresh rosemary and a lemon wedge.

Tip: Bruise the rosemary with your fingers so it releases more flavor.

Equipment

No need for any fancy equipment for this recipe. Just some good wine glasses will do. I recommend these Libbey All-Purpose Wine Glasses. All-purpose means they are great for both red and white wine... and of course, a Rosé Spritz.
